Effects of Body Tilting on the Pulse Rate and Blood Pressure in Korean Youth

Abstract
The change of the pulse rate and blood pressure according to the various postural change were measured for physical culture.
Total of 52 university healthy students were employed for this pourpose. The range of the age of the subjects was 20.6+2.7 years old.
Average of body height was 167.4+6.3cm and body weight 58.7+5.2kg and 35.1+3.8 in relative weight of body mass.
The results obtained were summarized as followings:
(1) In the vertical head down tilt, a significant change of 7.9% increase of the pulse rate was obtained comparing to that of the sitting position.
(2) The raise of blood pressure according to the various postural change were 7.5% in systolic pressure and 13.9% in diastolic pressure comparing with that the sitting, these were statistically high significant(p<0.01).
(3) The correlation coefficient of relative weight and pulse rate was r=+0.432 (P<0.01), and its and systolic pressure was r=+0.349(p<0.05) that when the head down in posture.
